The point is that the cost to Apple is lower than the retail price, plus they have a tax deduction added to that so it only costs Apple a few hundred dollars, if that, to give the iPhone away to their employees. Maybe so… but remember when they gave the iPod shuffles away? Apple paid the tax on those. I’d suspect they’d do the same for the iPhone.
