So the President has commuted Libby’s sentence because the sentence given him was too harsh, and the mere fact of his conviction was punishment enough, a horrible blot on an honorable man’s career of public service.

I suppose the President is right. After all, even with the elimination of a prison term, the poor Mr. Libby is still doomed to a horrific life of five-figure speaking engagement fees, a sinecure with one of the conservative Beltway Bandits, and not more than two or three book deals. Poor, poor, poor Scooter.

How can any rational person still believe President Bush is a good President, or (at this point) even remotely believes in his oath to uphold the Constitution?
